Dear witizens,

Today we have received the following message – see below. I replied that we need to discuss ths publicly. Please post your comments. Thank you.

michael posted an update in the group Associates:
Hello, I represent an investment fund. We are interested in web assets. Is it possible to buy Wirtland project? Who should be contacted? Thanks.
PS. This is not a joke.

The only reason someone want to buy Wirtland is so they can make money. That would undermine the fundamental base of having FREE unlimited citizenship with no restraints. I think the smart answer is to sell them a virtual territory with a 100 year lease on it.

Hi, I think that we, the witizens need to know more about the company that you represent, and also how your proposal to us, and to carry democratic consensus in our country about it.

Is the interest expressed by the propositioning party clearly stated? What aspects of Wirtland are they after? Intellectual rights to the entire project? Ownership of the domain names wirtland.com & wirtland.net? If the figure isn't substantial, the offer is in fact a joke. This project envelopes concepts with vast potential for success and tremendous opposition can only be considered of substantial value , if not priceless.

My concern and curiousity lie in the interests of Wirtland and ultimately, what dollar figure would need to be brought to the table for a unilateral, being that which excludes the voice of all Wirtlandians, decision.

if Wirtland just investment project - it not so cool, cos it became one of this startups and do not follow his mission, but if Wirtland ia the coutry - we can make own investment projects, witch investors can buy or something like that

If they will pay enough and if Wirtland will grow up after, then it's OK to sell. Because now the Wirtland project is a little bit regressing...

The fact that this sale never went through is testament either to the fact that either the buyer was in fact not interested enough to offer a worthwhile monetary settlement (most probable) or that Wirtland's owners deferred to the majority view of Witizens expressed in these comments (less likely). In either case, the sale did not go through, which creates a precedent for first asking Witizens before such decisions are made. Unfortunately, this precedent was later broken when Wirtland's assets were put up for sale.
